The City of Santa Clarita is currently accepting registration for the 2011 Camp Clarita Summer Program.  Online, mail-in and walk-in registration are being accepted for programs, which go from June 13 through August 12, 2011 and offer a diverse range of programs for children at a variety of locations throughout the City.
“Camp Clarita is a camp experience that provides recreational fun and creative learning opportunities for the youth of Santa Clarita,” commented Mayor Marsha McLean.  “The camps include activities such as games, crafts, drama, swimming, field trips, and more for children of all ages.”
Wee Folks and Little Folks camps are half-day programs for three to five year olds, allowing campers to participate in a variety of activities such as arts, crafts, games, storytelling, music, dance and water play.  Program fees range in price from $111 to $218 per session.
Ranger and Explorer day camps are offered for children age five through eight and nine to 12, respectively.  These programs are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, with extended care from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. available at no additional cost.  In addition to daily fun-filled activities and swimming, Ranger and Explorer campers participate in a weekly fieldtrip to a variety of locations throughout Southern California.  The cost is $160 per week for the Monday through Friday programs and $126 per week for the three day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday programs.
Voyager Camp is offered for children ages 12 to 15 and provides young teens with the opportunity to visit local hot spots each day, as well as participate in one overnight camping trip.  The cost for Voyager Camp is $218 per week for the Monday through Friday program and $183 per week for Monday, Wednesday, Friday program.  Camping trips are $246 per week.
The deadline to enroll is by 5 p.m.  on the Wednesday prior to the week the program begins and will be based on availability.  Walk-in registration is available at the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.
