After 9/11, we saw our nation came together to grieve over the many lives that were lost on that fateful day. It is with great sadness that we mourn once again, for the victims who were killed by explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon and for the hundreds who were injured by the blasts. Our hearts and our prayers are with the town of Boston. While we grieve, we also applaud the first responders, who responded to the tragedy rapidly and effectively.
Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the massive explosion at a fertilizer plant in West Texas last month.
As we reflect on this past month’s tragedies, we continue to move forward.
We are grateful that the Santa Clarita Valley has efficient Emergency and Trauma Services, with professionals dedicated to bettering the health and safety of our community. With that said, we are pleased to support Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and feature some of the participants of the Frontier Toyota/Henry Mayo Drive Safe Golf Classic on the cover of this issue. The Golf Classic, now in its 40th year, will be held on Saturday, May 11 at the beautiful Valencia Country Club.
