The Santa Clarita Valley is such a lovely place to live.  With so much to do, so much to see and many places to wine and dine, it’s no wonder it’s rated one of the top cities to reside.  We hope you are enjoying the summer season in our valley.

As you can see, there’s a lot of glitz and glam on the cover of this issue where we are pleased to feature the celebrities, dancing professionals and sponsors.  Now in its 5th year, Dancing With Our Stars promises to be another star-studded event, which will take place on Friday, August 22 at the Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.  Since its inception, the event has raised over $600,000 for our local non-profit organizations.  Get ready for more excitement.  Tickets are selling fast so don’t delay, buy them today on-line.  See opposite page for our cover story.
While the warm weather doesn’t seem as if it is going to leave any time soon, the summer season will soon be coming to an end.   Teachers are getting their classrooms ready and before you know it, the kids will be back in school.  We thought this would be the perfect month to introduce a new section to our publication.  Education.  This new recurring section will be dedicated to the amazing public and private schools that are available in our valley and will highlight the educational facilities with engaging editorial features.  The Education section begins on page 74.
Over the last few months, we have asked our readers to vote for their favorite individuals, businesses or non-profit organizations who they feel should be recognize for their leadership qualities.  The nominations have been received and the results are in.  Through a selection committee, 11 businesses and individuals will be honored at the third Annual SCV Leadership Awards, which will take place on Thursday, August 7.  Turn to page 7 for more information about the event.
In January, we teamed up with Valencia Acura to bring you an exciting car sweepstakes.  With over 1,000 registration forms received we are pleased to have finally chosen a winner!  Congratulations to Pam Jaffke on her two year lease on a 2014 Acura ILX!  See page 11 with all the details and a photo with her new car!
Once again, we have joined forces with the SCV chapter of Junior Chamber International (Jaycees) to present the 6th Annual 40 Under Forty Awards to be held on Thursday, November 13 at Robinson Ranch.  Do you know someone under 40 that deserves to be nominated?  If so, go online and send in your application today.  See page 6 for more details.
We are pleased to show our support and we are looking forward to an evening of great wine, beer and fun as the Vine2Wine Classic returns to Cal Arts on Saturday, August 16.  Proceeds from the event will benefit Circle of Hope, Inc. See opposite page for more details.

We also featured an easy to read and convenient Business Directory to help you find the right professional in the SCV beginning on page 54.
