9th Annual Poker Tournament Underway

SCV Youth Project and Curt Kravitz with Bay Equity Home Loans are proud to announce the 9th Annual Hold ‘Em Not Hassle ‘Em fundraising event at TPC Valencia on Saturday, November 14.
More than 150 players will take over TPC Valencia for a night of Texas Hold ‘Em style poker, a fantastic raffle, casino night, great food, cigars, wine and good friends.  Check in starts at 5 p.m., and the tournament begins at 6 p.m.
“The 9th Annual Hold ‘Em Not Hassle ‘Em Tournament has continued to attract a new group of supporters each year,” said Kim Goldman, SCV Youth Project Executive Director since 2005.  “New sponsors, new players and an awesome grand prize – a 2016 World Series of Poker Entry – will make for a hugely successful evening.”
In past years, this event has raised more than $25,000 for the Santa Clarita Youth Project; the goal for this year is $30,000.  Winners will have a chance to win gift certificates, electronics, bicycles, extravagant gift baskets, wine, VIP tickets to Jimmy Kimmel LIVE and so much more.
“This has become the premier poker event in our valley.  How can you deny yourself an evening playing a great game that raises money for a great cause?” said Gregg Goodman, event co-chair.  “Thank you in advance for your support.  Don’t forget – 100 percent of the proceeds benefit our community and our teens.  See you there!”
The Youth Project is celebrating more than 15 years of successfully providing free services to teens in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Since their doors opened in 2000, SCV Youth Project has assisted more than 33,000 local families, including 29,000 youth and 5,500 adults. In 2013/2014, with services on six high schools and four junior high campuses, the Youth Project provided more than 8,000 hours of service to more than 1,000 young adults in the Santa Clarita Valley with serious life challenges, including depression, suicide, grief/loss, peer pressure and drug/alcohol abuse, said Goldman.
Sponsors include: Curt Kravitz with Bay Equity Loans, Broadscast, Federal Escrow Inc.; Gregg Goodman Insurance Agency, Inc., Kathy Watterson with ReMax of Valencia, KHTS Hometown Station, Martin Rodriguez with Wintrust, Nancy Starczyk of Realty Executives, Red Temple Music, Santa Clarita Soccer Center, SCV Poker League, SCVTV, The Magazine of Santa Clarita, The Signal, Tom Hough CPA, and QM Designs.
Sponsorships are available from $500 to $5,000. Tickets cost $125 for an individual buy-in to the tournament and event. A spectator viewing and silent auction ticket costs $40.
