The Magazine of Santa Clarita is proud to sponsor Tanya Tucker on our cover.
Hold onto your horses.  Country icon Tanya Tucker is bringing four decades of worldwide tours, chart-topping hits and trail-blazing sounds to the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 4.  Benefitting the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Foundation, the concert brings guests two entertainers in just one night – opening with comedian Tom Arnold.  Tickets include complimentary cheese and cracker platters, a no-host wine and beer bar, and an opportunity drawing with door prizes.  Don’t miss this incredible night!
The evening will kick off with comedian/actor Tom Arnold, who will appear on stage at 7 p.m. to draw winning tickets for door prizes and enjoy some time with the audience before the show.  A longtime stand-up comedian, Tom Arnold has been entertaining audiences on and off screen for years.  In addition to his robust stand-up career, he was a writer for the hit sitcom “Roseanne” and has worked as a successful voice actor, as well.
Once you’re full of laughs, take a “San Antonio Stroll” with legend Tanya Tucker, a defining voice of country music since she recorded her debut hit single “Delta Dawn” at age 13.  A Grammy nomination for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” followed, launching Tucker into the national spotlight and a resilient career marked by signature songs and her unforgettable sass and soul.  Tanya has produced 26 studio, live and compilation albums along with countless singles.  Her sound has evolved from pure, soulful country to cultivate a rock edge, paving the way for growth and change in the genre as a whole.  Throughout a lifetime of change, ups, downs and rebirths, Tanya stayed loyal to one vision: her songs speak for themselves, no matter what.
“I’m looking forward to coming back to Santa Clarita,” Tanya said of her upcoming performance.  “I have lots of good friends out here, and I love the fans.”
Doors open at 5 p.m., and refreshments are available until the show kicks off at 7 p.m.  Tickets purchases are tax deductible and range from $80 to $150.
The SCV Sheriff’s Foundation was organized under the laws of the State of California and exists as a nonprofit public benefit corporation.  This organization was formed in 1984 and was created by local citizens whose desire was to assist the local law enforcement effort in a tangible way.
Since that time, this volunteer organization has purchased equipment and provided help in accomplishing the law enforcement mission in the Santa Clarita Valley. In addition to providing much needed police equipment and crime prevention materials, the funds raised by the Foundation help the Civilian Volunteer, Law Enforcement Explorer and Reserve Deputy Programs at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
