2016 SCVTV Presents the Outwest Concert Series Wrap-up

by | Nov 22, 2016 | Uncategorized

Another year of Western music wrapped with the final concert featuring Texas singer/songwriter Dennis Jay on November 17.  What a year it was!  If you attended these monthly events, you can attest to the high quality of each performance.
“Thanks so much to SCVTV and OutWest for letting us share our music with the great folks in Santa Clarita.  We had a blast!”– Jim Jones of The Cowboy Way
This year, performers came from near and far.  From New Orleans came Kerry Grombacher, The Cowboy Way from New Mexico, and Eli Barsi traveled from Canada.  Audiences enjoyed Western Swing by Cow Bop, Syd Masters & The Swing Riders, and Jerry Hall and Trick Shot.  Songs of the Western way of life were performed by Mike Beck and Tom Hiatt.  Jennifer Lind brought the romance of the West to life, and an evening of storytelling by Storymasters Juni Fisher and Joe Herrington long will be remembered.
Missed one?  SCVTV captured each one “up close and personal.”  A founding partner of the series, they have filmed nearly 70 performances since June of 2010.  For the most recent concert, turn to SCVTV on Monday at 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., Friday at 8 pm and Saturday at 3 p.m.  Access all performances online at scvtv.com.
“I’ve been enjoying this great series for a couple of years now,” said Clint Bradley, who tunes in from England.  “It’s fantastic to see so much real Western music in one place.  Keep up the great work!”
SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series has a stellar reputation due to the quality of the talent.  At last count, 70 prestigious Western Music Association awards have been presented to more than 20 of the series’ performers, including 2016 participants Juni Fisher, Jim Jones, Eli Barsi and The Cowboy Way.
And the accolades continue!  In November, 2015 performer Dave Stamey was inducted into the Western Music Hall of Fame and was honored with four additional awards – Male Performer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Traditional Album of the Year and Song of the Year.  And three-time OutWest Concert Series performer Kristyn Harris was named 2016 Entertainer of the Year.
“If you are going to be recognized as an up-and-coming act, you must play the SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series, at least in the West Coast,” said Bruce Huntington from Side Winder.
Continuing the tradition of presenting new and emerging artists along with established musicians, OutWest is pleased to announce the 2017 concert calendar is in the final planning stages!  Old Town Newhall’s Repertory East Playhouse provides the perfect intimate setting with great acoustics, full bar service and convenient location.  Check out the January 2017 issue of The Magazine of Santa Clarita for full details!
SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series is made possible by OutWest, SCVTV, Western Music Association California Chapter, Repertory East Playhouse and The Magazine of Santa Clarita.
