I’ve Blown My New Year’s Resolution, Now What? Resolutions are for suckers. There, I said it because it’s time to get real.

by | Jan 23, 2017 | Health & Fitness

The new year is barely a month old and I’ll bet some, if not most of you, have already given up on your fitness resolutions. I’ll bet some of you got trial gym membership or started working out on your own. I’ll even bet some have gotten bored and discouraged already. That’s not surprising since resolutions simply don’t work.
You’re not alone. Studies show most New Year’s resolutions fail within a few weeks; the majority of the rest soon follow. Why is that? Why are we so completely unable to maintain our resolve? It’s time to get real about our fitness with solutions and not resolutions.
The answer lies not in our resolve, but in the resolutions themselves. Many resolutions are too vague: “I want to work out more.” Or too unattainable: “I want to lose 50 pounds in three weeks.” Or too unrealistic: “I want to go to the gym every day.” In other words, we set ourselves up for failure and disappointment landing us right back where we were to begin with—or worse. So, what’s the solution?
My fitness solutions are just that, solutions, not resolutions. My philosophy is not a sales gimmick designed to get you to sign up for a gym membership you’ll barely use. Instead, I’m here to help you be fit for life—your life. My unique workouts and fitness plans are designed to strengthen the key muscle groups you actually use on a daily basis in your life activities.
What do I mean by ‘your life activities’? Once, a client came into the gym describing how she had been digging wet clothes out of the washing machine. She injured her back when she turned, twisting to the side to put the clothes into the dryer. A common activity, to be sure, but who hasn’t performed a mundane activity like laundry, only to injure ourselves? We all have, of course.
As we age, those types of common activity injuries tend to happen more frequently if we don’t keep our muscles groups toned through regular exercise. My fitness solution for this mother and homemaker, was to help her strengthen her core muscles with a fitness plan designed specifically for her and her life activities. I know you can do the same. No matter what your life activities require, we can build a fitness solution for you.
Get real and get fit for life—your life.
