Students Off And Running (SOAR) Host Mardi Gras Madness 5K/10K
On Sunday, February 19, bring the whole family as Santa Clarita Track Club and Students Off And Running celebrate Mardi Gras Madness at Westfield Valencia Town Center! All proceeds from the Mardi Gras Madness 5K, 10K and Mini Madness 1K Events benefit Students Off And Running (SOAR), a program that provides a fully supported LA Marathon training experience to youth in need living in the Santa Clarita Valley at no cost to student participants or their families.
This year marks a decade of proven excellence for SOAR as an official Featured Charity of the 2017 Sketchers Performance Los Angeles Marathon. The program offers weekly challenges set in a truly non-competitive arena – stressing endurance, self-determination and perseverance. Student participants choosing to take on this 24-week, 380-mile life-changing experience gradually add miles to weekly distance goals until prepared for the life changing 26.2 mile LA Marathon in March of each year.
With 2016’s event marking a complete sell out for the fourth straight year, the Mardi Gras Madness 5K, 10K and Mini Madness 1K events are sure to be a family favorite! Walkers, strollers and four-legged friends are welcome as well!
