Volunteering at The Gentle Barn

Volunteers are an essential part of our work at The Gentle Barn. When we are open to the public, volunteers work with our animals to tell their stories, help visitors interact with them, and be their interpreters when they need a break. Volunteering with us and our animals on Sundays is a great way to connect to the community, give back to rescued animals, and feed your soul! Without our Sunday volunteers we could not be open to the public!

During the week our volunteers help us in the office doing the “behind the scenes work”, they also groom horses, cuddle with cows, and hang out in the barnyard. Our weekly barnyard volunteers are the eyes and ears of our barnyard, socializing with the timid animals, keeping their home clean, and developing lasting relationship with the animals who once were afraid of humans. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience!
