Easter Blessings for Our Troops

by | Mar 31, 2017 | Community

Community will be gathering to make Easter cards and prepare care packages to our troops overseas. Newhall Church of the Nazarene will be partnering with Prayer Angels for the Military to host this years ‘Operation Forget Me Not’. A free event, for all ages, to be held on Saturday, April 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church gymnasium at 23857 The Old Road, Newhall, CA 91321. Keeping our service men and women in our hearts and prayers, and remembering them with these small tokens our appreciation, can be so uplifting, especially with them being away from their families for so long.
Card making tables will be set up, for everyone to come and go between event hours. Care packing volunteers can sign-up at the Prayer Angels contact numbers below.
Bring a donation, if you can. Most needed items are: Individually wrapped snacks – granola bars, trail mix, cookies, Jerky, crackers, peanut butter, jelly or jam, fruit snacks, Top Ramen (not cup-o-soups), oatmeal, hot cocoa, and drink packets for water bottles. Pop-top cans of fruit & meals like Ravioli and hearty soups, tuna kits, and special ground coffee like Starbucks is a treat!   Three to four blade razors, deodorant, body wash, unscented baby wipes and cotton crew socks (blk, tan, brn, wht). Tax-deductible postage funds are also badly needed.
Donation bin is also available 24/7 at Prayer Angel main address: 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321. Funds can also be mailed to this address, or donate online through PayPal at: www.prayerangelsforthemilitary.com.
