The Canyon Theatre Guild Summer Youth Theatre Camps—Where Fun and Theatre is Training for Life!
Imagine a place that offers a fabulous array of workshops for kids throughout the year that deliver quality education in basic theatre skills and hands-on involvement theatrical productions. Imagine a place where workshops are taught by highly experienced credentialed teachers, professional actors and directors in an exciting and inclusive setting! Imagine a place where students do most of their learning in a 280 seat, successful working theatre, where class size is kept small to provide more individual attention. Imagine a place where tuition is low, fun factor is high – and – all experiences are designed to teach much more than theatre! This place is the Canyon Theatre Guild, a very special place for kids!
CTG Youth Summer Theatre Camps teach kids of all ages how to be a part of a production from audition to performance, all while having fun and meeting new friends! The program offers six session, three age groups and every group performs. CTG KIDS is for five to 10 year olds, CTG Juniors for 10 to 13 and CTG Jack Oakie Stars for 13 to 17 year olds. Some scholarships are available. In addition to practical theatre, programs are designed to teach healthy social skills.
As CTG long time instructor Mike Davies said, “The skills that students learn here: commitment, responsibility, self-confidence, and being a successful member of a team — they take with them and use for the rest of their lives.”
CTG youth become a part of a vibrant, working theatre with a wonderful and robust history and future.
