Santa Clarita Ballet Presents Alice in Wonderland
Fall down the rabbit hole with the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy and Company as it stages its third tremendously popular production of Alice in Wonderland on Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.
Under the direction of Pamela Sosa and set to the enduring music of Tchaikovsky, Strauss Jr., and Bowman, expect to see Lewis Carroll’s classic tale masterfully retold through a kaleidoscope of colorful costumes, whimsical choreography, and charming familiar characters.
During this two-act performance, Alice and her mad companions will whisk audiences into a world where cards dance, caterpillars dispense wisdom, and there’s a tea party every day- if you’re not late! As Alice makes her way through the twists and turns of Wonderland things turn “curiouser and curiouser” as mushrooms frolic, eggs topple, flowers waltz, and the Queen of Hearts keeps everything topsy-turvy in this delightful restaging.
Immediately following the conclusion of Alice in Wonderland, Santa Clarita Ballet Company’s Artistic Director, Carol Guidry, will stage an original short program featuring graduating members of the upper Company.
