Henry Mayo to Host Youth Sports Concussion Conference in July

 Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital will be hosting a free Youth Sports Concussion Seminar on Monday, July 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Henry Mayo Center on the hospital campus.
The seminar is designed for youth coaches and parents of young athletes. Instructions will be given on how to recognize concussion symptoms and what steps should be taken if a parent or coach suspects a child has sustained a concussion.
Presentations will be given by Andrew Blecher, MD, of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute and Sarah Ehrsam, head athletic trainer at College of the Canyons.  Dr. Blecher is board certified in sports medicine.  Ehrsam, in addition to her athletic trainer duties, is an adjunct faculty member in the COC kinesiology department.
