Honoring Our Veterans Classic Car Show for Wounded Warriors
Whether it’s the army, navy or Marine Corps, we offer our respect and gratitude to veterans for all they have given for our protection. Veterans around the country are regarded as some of the most skilled, dedicated and accomplished citizens of our nation. When veterans return home after a tour, they can sometimes need support to help them transition back into civilian life. One organization that has come together to reach out to veterans to express appreciation and support for all that they have done is the Wounded Warrior’s Project.
The Wounded Warriors Project’s (WWP) mission is to honor and empower service men and women who have been seriously hurt or injured in the line of duty. This organization strives to connect veterans and their families to peers, plans, and communities. They offer free and life-changing programs to help and empower veterans to live life to the fullest.
These programs help veterans fill-in gaps from government provided care such as physical, psychological, or financial services, when they might not always be receiving enough support. The WWP works to assist veterans to live life on their own terms. They also encourage those that are a part of their cause to mentor fellow warriors. Through support groups, physical therapy, or even PTSD classes, WWP works on assisting veterans toward recovery. The demand for these programs and services has since grown from serving a handful of injured veterans to now serving tens of thousands.
To honor and support veterans and the WWP, Oakmont of Santa Clarita, an assisted living and memory care community, is hosting a classic car show fundraiser on July 29th with proceeds directly benefitting the WWP (please RSVP). Old cars, from the exotic and European, to American classics, will be gathered together to represent a bygone era of landmark vehicles. This car show will offer the opportunity for enthusiasts and owners to come together and share their interest in automobiles while raising funds for an important cause. With beautiful cars out to support a wonderful organization, this is certainly an event you won’t want to miss.
