Nominations Open for 2017 VIA Awards

by | Jul 27, 2017 | Community

Since 1981, VIA has been the voice of business and industry in the Santa Clarita Valley and on the cutting edge of solution-based problem solving. Many of its worthwhile programs have transcended the passage of time and continue to impact the business environment of today.
Let the good times roll!
VIA BASH debuted in 1999 and has been the party-not-to-be-missed ever since. This year’s event will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia and delivers the entertaining sounds of The Summit as they transport guests back in time to the Hollywood Canteen era, “where the greatest generation danced with the most beautiful girls in the world.”
#VIAawards
As part of the evening’s festivities, VIA will celebrate and showcase the businesses of Santa Clarita. Each year, VIA celebrates the diversity and accomplishments of its members. Awards are given to those individuals and members of distinction deserving in one of three categories. Nominations close Friday, September 1, 2017.
The Connie Worden-Roberts Volunteer of the Year Award: Awarded to an individual affiliated with VIA who is a member in good standing for a minimum of two years and has demonstrated strong support of the organization through committee involvement or chairmanship, member recruitment, fundraising and/or the creation of increased visibility for the organization. This member will have been an active member of one or more VIA Committees and have made major volunteer contributions to the organization.
VIA Business of the Year Award: This cornerstone VIA member business will have been affiliated with VIA for no less than five years and demonstrated consistent support not only for the organization but to the business community and the Santa Clarita Valley as a whole.
VIA Rising Star Award: A VIA member for no less than 12 months, this company will have shown substantial new growth and visibility through the development and launch of a new product or service, significant increases in job creation and/or building expansion.
All for a good cause: The VIA BASH benefits VIA’s Connecting to Success, a privately-funded program that offers important workplace readiness skills to high school students. This signature program now trains more than 2,500 high school juniors annually from all area high schools. Befitting the event theme, readers can purchase a gold star sponsorship for $25 that sends one student to the program.
Sponsorships, including gold stars, and individual tickets are available for the BASH event at www.VIA.org or by contacting Kathy Norris in the VIA office at 661-294-8088, kathy@via.org. Applications for VIA Award nominations available by emailing admin@via.org.
