Sunrise Rotary Club Hosts Tequila and Tacos – August 19 at Egg Plantation
The Santa Clarita Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting the second annual Tequila Tasting. This event will take place August 19th from 6-10pm at Egg Plantation in Newhall. The tickets are on sale now for $50/person on EventBrite.com. There are individual and group options on the website.
Your donation includes sampling of a variety of exotic Herradura Tequilas, a taco bar, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle. This event offers options other than tequila from Young’s Market Company, purveyors of fine wine and spirits. Also, sponsorship opportunities are still available, so see today on how you can be a part of this wonderful event.
Funds from this event go to various SCV charities along with some of the Rotary Club’s international ventures. Their efforts connect the overall 1.2 million members to help improve lives at international and local levels. Their efforts range from conflict resolution Peace Gardens at the local high schools to aid in an international project for orphans and disabled children in Cartago, Costa Rica. Since its inception, in 1905, the Rotary Club’s main priority has been combating the eradication of the polio disease, a paralyzing yet vaccine-preventable disease, which through their help has reached almost complete elimination worldwide.
The Sunrise Rotary club services over 200 countries with 35,000 clubs and 1.2 Million members. Their mission is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster: First: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service; Second: High ethical standards in business and professions; Third: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life; Fourth: The advancement of international understandings, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the idea of service.
