Fritz is Coming to Santa Clarita! Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec 2 at 5 p.m. and join us for a free event
Fritz Coleman to be guest speaker at Santa Clarita’s 12th Annual Military Honor Christmas Tree Lighting and Menorah Lighting. Beloved Weathercaster at NBC4 News and a Navy Veteran, Fritz will celebrate the holiday season with us, as we honor our military, past and present, and light up the military Christmas tree at the Veterans Historical Plaza in Old Town Newhall. Fritz, a broadcasting icon, stand-up comic, actor and playwright, is also Vietnam era Navy Veteran, serving on the USS John F. Kennedy from 1969 to 1972.
A Cowboy Christmas this year with country singer Savannah Burrows, actress-playwright and singer Marilyn Hackett and the renowned Valencia High School Choir performing their choreographed Christmas songs. Hot cocoa, coffee and holiday treats will be provided for this special and exciting event. The patriotic Christmas tree is decorated with laminated photos of our military loved ones including active duty, reserves, veterans and our fallen. SCV Young Marines, long time participants will place a wreath to honor our fallen service members.
The annual event is hosted by Prayer Angels for the Military. Assisting veteran’s organizations include Back to the War Zone, Newhall American Legion Post 507 and the COC Valencia Veterans Resource Center.
