Easter Care Packages for Troops
The community is invited to make Easter cards and fill care packages for hometown deployed troops. The annual event, “Operation Forget Me Not”, hosted by Prayer Angels for the Military and Newhall Church of the Nazarene, will be held Saturday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church gymnasium at 23857 The Old Road, Newhall, CA 91321. All ages are welcome.
Bring a donation, if you can. Most needed items are: Individually wrapped snacks – granola bars, trail mix, cookies, Jerky, beef logs, crackers, peanut butter, jelly or jam, fruit snacks, Top Ramen (not cup-o-soups), oatmeal, hot cocoa, and drink packets for water bottles. Pop-top cans of fruit and meals like Ravioli, hearty soups and chili, tuna kits in pouches, special ground coffee like Starbucks is a treat, 3-4 blade razors, body wash, deodorant, unscented baby wipes, thick cotton crew socks (black or white), soft toilet tissue like Angel Soft or Charmin, crossword puzzles/sudoku, note pads, blank cards, and current magazines. Tax-deductible postage funds are also needed. Donation bin is always available 24/7 at the Prayer Angel main address: 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321.
