Local Warriors’ Wall Now in Place at Veteran Center

The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative is a gathering of dedicated business men and women, non-profit organizations, and individuals pledged to care for the interests of local veterans and their families who have given and sacrificed so much for their country.
The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative includes USC and COC as well as a number of local businessmen and women, individuals and non-profit organizations, all coming together to exchange ideas and offer whatever assistance is within their province, such as jobs, training, housing, medical attention, counseling & therapy, transportation, special services, education, and many additional specialties. This group, which meets the third Friday of every month at 11:30 a.m., has now expanded to over 60 entities, increasing every week,  hopefully with no end in sight.
In addition to the many features and services available at the newly opened Veteran Center, we are proud to announce the latest addition, our Local Warriors’ Wall. Bill Reynolds of Signal Media has written biographies of our local veterans over the years. We’ve compiled many of those stories, and have framed them and placed them in a position of honor inside the center.
Currently we are proud to feature Robert Gasior, Garo Papazian, John Sega, Fred Gruchalla, Dennis Witzel, Kevin Duxbury, Lee Shulman, Rex Gribble, Calvin Thomas, Paul Yadlosky, Richard Ramsey, Tom Tucker, Bob Kellar, Tichicaya Missamou, Amos Clemens, John Edwards, Calvin Erickson, Melvin Barnes, Mary Stefko, Richard Roelofs, Robert Kaplan, Pamela Ross, James Allison, Raymond Torres, Max Morgan, Daniel Petkunas, Donald MacKenzie, Jim Hackett, Thomas Martin, Sam Modugno, Anthony Alba, Louis Broussard Jr. and Bernard Ellrodt Jr.
Why not drop by and see us, see what we’re up to, and partake of our services. At the last Board meeting for the Collaborative Dennis Witzel was unanimously elected to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Collaborative. We also have a new and improved website up and running at www.SCV-vets.org, so please check it out.
The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative is located at 23222 Lyons Avenue in Newhall. For more information, please visit www.SCV-vets.org.
