In February 2018, Cox became the first openly transgender person to appear on the cover of any Cosmopolitan magazine (specifically, Cosmopolitan South Africa).
Our next submission came from the lovely Maggie-Mae Laufman. The Santa Clarita resident was happy to snap a quick picture with fellow resident Robyn Bianchi along with celebrities Joe King (guitarist, The Frey) and Candace King(actress/producer).
Joe King is the guitarist, backing vocalist, songwriter, and co-founder of Denver-based rock band The Fray. Joe King was born on May 25, 1980, in Colorado. He attended Faith Christian Academy in Arvada, Colorado. Before his success with the Fray, King attended school while he worked as an auto damage appraiser. The band released Movement EP in 2002. King sang lead on two songs on the EP – It›s for You and Where You Want To.
The band released Reason EP in 2003, to some local acclaim in Denver. This prompted Epic Records to sign the band in 2004. The band’s first album, How to Save a Life, released in 2005, brought the band mainstream success. Apart from playing guitar, King sang lead on the song, “Heaven Forbid”, which was about his sister. He also gave backing vocals on “How to Save a Life”, “Look After You” and “Trust Me”. The band released their second album, The Fray, in 2009. The second single from the album, “Never Say Never”, was written primarily by King from his perspective of his marriage. Apart from guitar, the second album also saw King singing a lot more: he supplied lead vocals on the song “Ungodly Hour” and on the bonus track “Uncertainty”, and backing vocals on “Syndicate” and “Absolute”. The band released Scars & Stories in 2012, with King singing lead on Rainy “Zurich”.
Candice Rene King (née Accola) is an American actress, singer, and songwriter. She portrayed Caroline Forbes on the CW television drama series The Vampire Diaries. King had guest appearances in a number of television series such as How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, and Drop Dead Diva. In July 2009, she starred in the independent horror film Deadgirl which centers on two high school boys who discover an immortal woman in an abandoned asylum. That same year King had a bit-role in The Hannah Montana Movie. In 2009, she was cast in the CW television series The Vampire Diaries as Caroline Forbes. In June 2012, she joined the second season of the web series Dating Rules From My Future Self, as Chloe Cunningham, a 26-year-old girl who believes love does not exist. The series centers on a girl receiving romance advice from herself 10 years in the future by text message.
