Nominate SCV’s Young Leaders For 40 Under Forty 2018! Nominations open July 1, 2018

by | Jun 26, 2018 | Community

We all know those over-achievers who handle work, volunteer and family life like champs. They make us proud to be part of this community — and they accomplish all that before they even turn 40!
It’s JCI Santa Clarita’s mission to honor those dedicated, heart-led professionals and volunteers who are leading our young people toward a better, brighter future. And The Magazine of Santa Clarita is proud to partner with this young organization, more familiarly known as The Jaycees, in their effort to acknowledge and promote the next generation of leaders and do-gooders.
With this sentiment, JCI Santa Clarita and The Magazine of Santa Clarita are thrilled to announce the nomination period for 40 Under Forty 2018 opens on July 1, 2018. Nominations are only open until August 1st, 2018. To cast your nomination, visit www.scv40underforty.com.
Each nominee must meet the following criteria:
1. Must be between 21 and 39 years of age as of November 2018
2. Must serve in a leadership role in their work or volunteer life
3. Must either work or live in the regions listed: Santa Clarita Valley, which includes the geographic boundaries of Castaic, Canyon Country, Valencia, Saugus, Newhall, Stevenson Ranch, Agua Dulce, and Acton; or Antelope Valley, which includes the geographic boundaries of Palmdale and Lancaster or the San Fernando Valley
4. Is not a past 40 Under Forty Honoree
Within the coming months, past and current Jaycees will be sharing what it means to be a part of our Junior Chamber International chapter. Immediate Past President and 40 Under Forty Honoree, Lindsay Schlick said, “The Jaycees helped start my business. They were our first friends when we moved to Santa Clarita, and they have shown up for us time and time again. Through my involvement in the Jaycees, I have developed an amazingly loyal network that has connected me to new and bigger opportunities year after year. The leadership skills, communication skills, knowledge and friendships you develop in this organization will last a lifetime. Every young person should start here.” Lindsay’s story is similar to so many past and current Jaycees, many who are our community’s top leaders today. If you are interested in supporting JCI Santa Clarita, we are accepting sponsorships for the Alumni Mixer, Nominee Mixer and Awards Gala. With the support of our community sponsors, we have been able to keep this event going since 2009, and we appreciate each and every helping hand.
What Is JCI Santa Clarita?
JCI is an international non-profit organization of young, active citizens who are “living, communicating, taking action and creating impact in our communities.” This tight-knit network helps young people make leaps and bounds of progress in their respective communities.
