Don’t Miss Beauty and the Beast and Gilligan’s Island, The Musical
Playing now through August 12th, we invite you to “Be Our Guest” to The Santa Clarita Regional Theatre’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, performed on the extraordinary College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center Stage. Actor George Chavez is pleased to be reprising his role of the Beast 11 years later. “It’s a dream to play a role that has gone through a lot of obstacles and turmoil and in the end has a good resolve not just a physical transformation but an inward transformation as well”. He urges everyone, young and old alike to come and see Beauty and the Beast this summer. Chavez stated that “it doesn’t matter who you are, Beauty and the Beast has a sentimental place for everyone who comes to see it. The youngest of kids and parents will both be touched because of its strong message of core virtues. As an audience member, this show helps one to be able to articulate, how to be a friend, how to let go, and trust, and how to be a better person. Beauty is found within”.
Also, come set sail and get stranded with us through August 25 at The Canyon Theatre Guild in Old Town Newhall with Gilligan’s Island, The Musical. What happens when a crew of seven people from all different walks of life gets stranded on a deserted island? Hilarity ensues! Based off of the hit television show from the 1960s, your favorite crew Gilligan, The Skipper, The Professor, the Howells, Ginger, and Mary Ann are back. Director Ingrid Boydston is very pleased to be directing a show that she has wanted to direct for years! This show brings up a nice reminder of her own childhood as she remembers biking home from school as a child and rushing in to watch Gilligan’s Island on TV. She urges everyone to see this show because “Everybody likes to laugh! You will find this show hilarious as it’s funny to see the characters that you all know and love act out all of these shenanigans live on stage! So bring your date or bring the entire family. There’s something for everyone on Gilligan’s Island”! Boydston also says this production will remind you of the television show as it combines four to five episodes into one comedic musical. This hysterical production with wonderful music written by Hope and Laurence Juber as well as the book written by Sherwood and Lloyd J. Schwartz will surely leave you laughing all night long! You do not want to miss out on this one.
For Beauty and the Beast, tickets range from $12 to $29 for Adults and $10 to $26 for Seniors (Over 62) and Juniors (Under 18), all depending on where you sit.
