Fall is in the air at The Gentle Barn

 As soon as we start to feel the nights get chilly, we get ready for all our fun Autumn activities in the barnyard. We bring in fresh straw for our piggies to snuggle in and stay warm, we unpack the fluffy blankets for the horses, cows and pigs and we get the heaters ready to keep our turkeys and chickens cozy through the longer nights.
With the cooler weather, it’s the perfect time to visit us on a Sunday! During the month of October, you can enjoy our Halloween festivities every week. These include costume contests for those who want to dress up, decorations, Fall-themed photo backdrops and pumpkins for sale. Everyone can have a chance to feed carrots to the horses, give the pigs belly rubs and experience a warm snuggle with a chicken or turkey.
In November, we start to prepare for A Gentle Thanksgiving. It is by far our greatest event of the year! Each person who attends gets an amazing gift bag of vegan, eco-friendly and cruelty-free products and there is live music to set the mood for an amazing afternoon. Our guests get to feed and cuddle the turkeys, enjoy a delicious, gourmet, vegan meal and take part in a Native American drum circle. The event will be held on-site at The Gentle Barn on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are available now at www.gentlebarn.org/events.
