Santa Clarita Salvation Army Hosts 2nd Annual Red Kettle Kickoff

by | Sep 26, 2018 | Community

The Salvation Army Santa Clarita Valley Corps will host its 2nd Annual Red Kettle Kickoff at the SCV Corps Center, 22935 Lyons Ave. in Newhall, on Thursday, November 8, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This annual event brings together local leaders, community members, businesses and families for a memorable evening that kicks off the season of giving.
The Salvation Army has been taking spare change and turning it into tangible acts of kindness and assistance in Southern California for more than 130 years.
The Salvation Army’s Santa Clarita Valley Corps provides basic social services to more than 4,900 people each year in the form of grocery orders, utility assistance and emergency lodging. In 2017, the Santa Clarita SCV Corps provided groceries to more than 370 families and toys and winter coats to more than 2,000 children.
When the red kettles and bell ringers fan out across the Santa Clarita Valley after the November 8th Kickoff, all money donated will stay in the SCV to help our neighbors in need.
Besides just having a good time of music, fun and family, attendees at the Santa Clarita Corps’ Red Kettle Kickoff will have the opportunity to sign up to be a volunteer bell ringer, a great chance to give back and get in the spirt this season.
For information about the Kickoff, sponsorship opportunities or to find out how to become a volunteer bell ringer please contact Envoy Jerry Bloom at 661-799-5841 or visit santaclarita.salvationarmy.org.
