Bill Miranda Announces Election Candidacy for City Council

City of Santa Clarita Councilmember Bill Miranda announces his 2018 City Council election candidacy.
Thirty-five years ago, Bill Miranda moved to Santa Clarita for its great schools and safe environment. Soon after, he supported cityhood, fought against the Elsmere Canyon dump and worked in support of a number of non-profit organizations in Santa Clarita.
Bill is a Councilmember, U.S. Air Force Veteran, former Corporate Executive and Small Business Owner. As a Councilmember, Bill voted to expand the number of deputies in Santa Clarita and to build a new “State of the Art” Sheriff Station to better protect our citizens. He also advocated for Needham Ranch and Vista Canyon, creating jobs locally so that residents don’t have to drive into Los Angeles to work. Bill supported the creation of the Veterans Historic Plaza Memorial Wall to honor our Veterans and he strongly supports the Arts in Santa Clarita. In one of his proudest moments, Bill voted to protect our seniors from unfair rent increases.
There is more work to do, such as the Newhall Arts District, a new Saugus library, the new additions planned for Canyon Country, the new Senior Center and new roads to alleviate traffic. Santa Clarita is a great place to live thanks to great leadership. Bill wants to keep it that way!
