Help Support Santa Clarita's Very Own Community Garden As far back as the 1890s Community Gardens have been part of the American tradition. That tradition is finally coming to Santa Clarita. Our first Community Garden is scheduled to open in March of 2011. The garden will be located in Central Park and will provide individual gardening plots for local residents. Many people who do not have access to a garden will now have the ability to grow organic vegetables as well as herbs and flowers.

Jack and Jill Hosts White Party Fundraiser The Santa Clarita/Antelope Valley Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will host its “All-White Affair” cocktail party fundraiser on April 30, 2011 at the Paseo Club in Valencia. The event, to which guests are encouraged to wear all-white attire, will feature live jazz music, DJ and dancing, hosted bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. In Old Town Newhall, the City’s new 30,000 square foot Old Town Newhall library is under construction at the corner of Lyons and Main Street. Administrative Medical Assistant Program Back at COC Due to strong demand, College of the Canyons Community Education will again be offering an administrative medical assistant (AMA) training program to students, beginning in March. Eighteen people successfully completed the college’s first 11-week AMA program, which concluded in December 2010, prompting college officials to bring back the popular program for a second run.
