Quality Independent Films and Impressive Local Student Projects Shine at Upcoming Event

The fifth annual Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival returns to the Repertory East Playhouse January 7 to 10, 2010, with an exciting line up of independent films from local, regional, national, and international talents; films are appropriate for audiences of all ages.
“We’re excited to be celebrating five successful years!  Filmmakers and audience members alike have always enjoyed this event,” explains Executive Director and Festival Co-Founder Ramon Hamilton.

The Festival features quality, professional independent films, films by participants of the Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival’s Script 2 Screen youth filmmaking programs and film projects made by local Junior High and High School students.

“We love being able to highlight the creative work of local youth, while also showcasing quality, professional independent films.  Bringing students and successful independent filmmakers together is a wonderful experience for both groups and, as we saw last year, is a great experience for audience members as well,” says Festival Co-Founder Jennifer Fischer.  “Plus, we are proud to offer families affordable entertainment.”

Films are appropriate for all audiences and daily passes for the Film Festival are priced at $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
