Similar to Batik for cloth, the pysanky process uses a wax-dye method to form the intricate designs on Easter eggs. You begin with the lightest color dyes and proceed to darker and darker dyes. Finally the various layers of wax are melted away to reveal a brilliantly colored, intricate design.
For individuals who are members of the SCV Senior Center and previously enrolled in first-quarter art classes, there is no charge for the class. For those who are new to the Center, the “all you can paint Art Buffet” is $40.
