When we started The Magazine, it was just one of 12 other publications we were producing. Thanks to the residents, the support of our advertisers and the great staff we’ve had throughout the years we continued to grow. We eventually eliminated or sold the other publications and decided to focus our efforts toward making this magazine the best it could be.
What a wonderful 20 years it has been. We take pride in the community we live in, the people who reside and the many businesses and non-profit organizations we have been able to help promote and support.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff members. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes when putting together a magazine, and on a day-to-day basis, our staff continuously works hard to make this publication come together. From designing ads to writing editorial, managing accounts and much more, we are thankful for their commitment each month.
Our son Alex, who graced the cover of our first issue as an adorable little two year old, is now part of our staff. He plays a diverse role with our company; he is a Graphic Designer, handles Website services and also manages sales accounts. We are so pleased to have him follow in our footsteps.
Together with Alex, Ati Hafizi and Kathy Cleversley make up our Art Department. Kathy and Ati are both Graphic Designers, bringing life to your ads with their creativity and artistic flair. We are happy to have them on our staff.
Chances are, if you’ve called our office, you may have spoken to either of the Stephanies that make up our editorial department. You may also have even see them together at events. Stephanie Jimenez and Stephanie Struyck Elgin are the two we are referring to. Together they collaborate to bring you exciting stories, restaurant reviews, makeovers and more.
Our magazine wouldn’t be possible without our hardworking sales department. Stephanie Kern-Hart has been with our company for over 16 years and we are thankful for her commitment to her clients and our company. Pat Brown, who recently retired, had been with The Magazine for 15 years, and although we were sad to see her leave, we wish her the best of luck in her retirement. Pat’s daughter, Valerie, continues to work at our company and has also been a mainstay with The Magazine. Valerie has been with us for over 11 years and we are pleased to continue to have her on our staff. Joining the Sales Department is Jody Watson, who we welcomed just a few months ago, and Amy Trogan, our newest Sales Representative, who joined The Magazine this issue.
While it takes a great committed staff to put forth The Magazine, it is with the support of our community and our advertisers who have allowed us to flourish. We live in such a wonderful city, and having the support of our community makes our efforts worthwhile.
Lastly, as your family gathers, please remember our seniors this holiday season, as the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation begins their annual gift giving campaign. See how you can help and refer to the gloss between pages 176 and 177.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday season, and here’s to another 20 years.
Until next time, Linda and Moe Hafizi
