It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my father William Arthur and Moe’s brother Iraj.  We like to believe that when we lose someone close to us they still live through us and give us strength.  The time we have spent with those we have lost makes them part of us.  We would like to dedicate this February issue of The Magazine of Santa Clarita to them both.

We are so pleased to feature the ever so popular SCV Senior Center’s Celebrity Waiter 2012 “Passages in Time” event on the cover of this issue of The Magazine of Santa Clarita.  From To Kill a Mockingbird to Memoirs of a Geisha, the star-studded characters from the greatest novels will shine on Saturday, February 25 at the beautiful Hyatt Regency in Valencia, all to benefit the SCV Senior Center Foundation.  Actor Atticus Shaffer will host the well-loved event, and we are once again, proud to be a sponsor.  For details see opposite page.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your loved one at the Canyon Theatre Guild’s “Night of a Thousand Stars” Gala at the Valencia Country Club on Friday, February 10.  Complete in black tie fashion, there will be entertainment, a live auction and dancing.  For more information, see page 14.
Fall in love with health this month and take control of your well-being.  Join the SCV Chamber of Commerce as they host their 4th Annual Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, February 25.  The event will take place at the College of the Canyons Student Center and is free to the public.  Learn about the healthcare services available in our community as well as receive free health information and screenings.  For detailed information about the event, turn to page 56.
