Santa Clarita Valley nominees for the Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year were announced on Tuesday, March 13 at a Paparazzi Party held in Santa Clarita. The nominees for the SCV Man of the Year are:  Steve Kilker, Tom Dierckman, Steve Sturgeon, Gary Choppe, John Lutz, Jim Lentini, Bill Lively and Bob Benjamin. The nominees for the SCV Woman of the Year are: Linda Hafizi, Agnes Russell, Myrna Condie, Debbie Heys, Laurie Ender, Gerri McCorkle, Sue Endress, Dawn Hovhannisyan, Cheryl Gray, Marina Contreras and Diane Benjamin.  The nominees were introduced by their respective non-profit organizations.
Each 501(c) (3) community service organization was allowed to nominate one man and one woman whom they felt had dedicated an outstanding amount of time and volunteer service to the SCV.  Candidates have a history of community commitment, and nominees are considered based on type of service, years of community service and the impact of service that was provided to multiple local organizations. The Committee, comprised of previous honorees, will select the Man and Woman of the Year from the submitted nominees.  
On Friday, May 4, the 46th Annual Premier Volunteer Recognition Event, 2012 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year dinner will be held at the beautiful Hyatt in Valencia at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $85 per person, sponsor tables available.
