We hope that you are enjoying success with your advertising and editorials in The Magazine of Santa Clarita.  The demand to supply editorial to us is growing every month.  In light of this, we would like to ask for your cooperation in several areas of editorial submission.

Editorials need to be 400 words in length.  The Magazine reserves the right to edit materials down to the correct size without approval.  Editorials must be typed in upper and lowercase and submitted as MS word documents.  Editorials and photos may be emailed to us at editorial@santaclaritamagazine.com . WE CANNOT ACCEPT EDITORIALS SENT TO US BY FAX. ALL EDITS MUST BE SENT VIA EMAIL OR SENT ON A DISK.

There are also two types of articles in The Magazine:

ADVERTORIALS: An advertorial is a rave review about you and what you do, full of facts and figures and quotes – a wonderful tribute to your business. Each advertiser is allowed to have one advertorial per year, either as a new client or a special event such as an anniversary.

EDITORIALS: General, informative articles, generic in nature, that showcase your expertise.  Because people want news, a story promising information will get noticed and read.  Put your message in news format and you will increase the odds for your ad’s success.  Remember, you’ve already got an ad running, so you don’t need the same information twice.  People want interesting information, not another sales pitch.  For example, a furniture store might run editorials on decorating ideas of fabrics.  A beauty salon might write about different hairstyles, makeup, facial treatments, etc.  Any specials, sales or information on the business itself should be placed in your ad.

Editorials that are critical of other businesses practices or products will not be printed.  This includes beware-of-business-that-don’t-know-what-you-do articles or how-to-choose-a-good (realtor/pool contractor/hair stylist/etc.) articles.

We can no longer run an editorial that has been published in a previous issue of The Magazine.  We also prefer not to publish material that has been submitted elsewhere.  We feel it is important to publish fresh and exclusive content.  Please remember to include a byline and a tag line with your business phone, address, e-mail address and/or website.

EDITORIAL MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE 1ST OF THE MONTH FOR PUBLICATION THE FOLLOWING MONTH. An editorial received after the 1st may not appear in the month for which it was intended, but will be held for future issues.
