The Brittany Foundation, a non-profit humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless dogs, has several dogs for adoption. One of our focuses is on senior dogs, whom we find to be incredible companions. Please consider these special seniors when looking for a pet.
Timka was rescued from the shelter. Why anyone would abandon this beautiful girl, we’ll never know. What we do know is that Timka, about 11 years old, is healthy, happy, and ready for a home of her own again. A typically sweet Cocker, Timka enjoys going for short walks, other dogs, quality time with her people, and napping. She’d make a great addition to any family or adult home.
Very sweet and kissy, 12 year old Madison is always in a good mood. This Pomeranian came to us from the shelter with matted fur, but was affectionate and friendly even before the relief of having those mats shaved! Madison is mostly blind, but gets around fine and loves to meet new people. Do you have a spot on your lap and in your heart for Madison?
Carmen, 11, came from the shelter in great condition except she had severe cataracts. However, Carmen can see shadows, and she doesn’t let her near-blindness slow her down at all! Carmen is playful and affectionate, and walks great on a leash. She needs a home that understands nearly blind dogs.
Gentle, unassuming Pancho belonged to a homeless man, who found a living situation but was not allowed to take Pancho with him. Since then, Pancho has been in boarding, forever awaiting a new person or family to call his own. Very low maintenance, at 11 years old, Pancho generally just wants to nap by your feet and keep you company - maybe a short walk each day. Pancho needs to be the only pet in the home.
Gilligan is a small, healthy Sharpie/Beagle Mix, about 15 years old, that gets along great with other dogs and enjoys people, too. This wrinkly little old man makes us laugh with delight to have him around. We think he’ll make you happy, too, when you bring him into your home!
