To get everyone in the mood, guests will be serenaded by strolling carolers as they view the trees during a cocktail and hors d’oeuvre reception from 6 to 7 p.m. Beautiful tabletop trees, wreaths and charming gingerbread houses will also be on display and available for purchase to enhance any holiday décor.
The featured trees have been decorated by professional designers and other talented individuals and some will come with a matching wreath and garland.
New this year will be an opportunity to help some needy Club member families as patrons can choose and sponsor a Family Tree. The trees, along with gifts and food will be delivered to pre-selected families and given in the name of the purchaser.
Also new this year, following a full sit-down dinner and the live auction, guests can stay and enjoy live music and dancing until 11 p.m. It promises to be a full night of great food, entertainment and a chance to help a very worthy cause.
“Eddie and I are so honored to chair this year’s Festival and to work with such a great, dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about helping kids,” said event Co-chair Janice Murray.
The Boys & Girls Club of SCV serves 3,500 local kids at three facilities located in Newhall, Canyon Country and Val Verde. The Club offers youth programs emphasizing education, fitness, leadership and character development, the arts and life skills. Proceeds from the Festival directly benefit the kids at the club and these programs.
“The Club depends a great deal on the generosity of the community”,said Jim Ventress, Chief Professional Officer for the Club. “The programs and services at the Club have helped so many local young people reach their full potential.”
Corporate and individual sponsorships for The Festival of Trees are still available and individual tickets for the event may be purchased for $200.
