Get swept away by love and romance at the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation’s “Have a Heart Sweetheart Gala” on Friday, February 13, at the Hyatt Valencia.  Enjoy a “Romantic Evening in Paris” as the beautiful evening will include delicious cuisine and exciting entertainment.  Dance the night away to the entertaining tunes of “Crush” an amazing eight-piece band who will perform everything from Motown to Madonna. 




All proceeds from the event will benefit the Cardiac Care Services at the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.  “The contributions that we will receive from the gala will benefit the people of our community tremendously and strengthen the backbone of our hospital. From the time a patient arrives at the ER with a heart attack, we have 90 minutes to open up their heart artery—this is called the ‘golden hour’— the procedure requires a team of skilled nurses, personnel, technicians and doctors to orchestrate it successfully.  The proceeds that will benefit the Cardiac Services at the hospital are indeed essential and life-saving,” states Dr. Samuel Kojoglanian, interventional cardiologist. 

Philanthropist Roberta G. Veloz, is pleased to be the event’s title sponsor. “The Heart Catheterization Laboratory at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital is a passion of mine, therefore, I feel that it is my responsibility to sponsor the Sweetheart Gala for the enjoyment of everyone, but also to educate people about good heart health,” stated Roberta.

Serving as this year’s 2009 Sweetheart Couple is Dale and Tamara Donohoe.  Dale and Tamara met in the seventh grade at Sierra Vista Junior High School and both graduated from Canyon High. They will be celebrating 20 years of marriage this coming June and are pleased to take on the title as this year’s Sweetheart Couple.  “When Roberta called and told us we were going to be this year’s sweetheart couple, we were in shock, but very excited!” stated Dale and Tamara.  Dale is President of Intertex Companies and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital as well as the Child and Family Center.    

The event will begin at 6 p.m. and tickets for the gala are $150 per person.  Sponsorship opportunities are still available.  Purchase a table for ten at the top--Eiffel Tower Level, for $5,000.  Fine wine and champagne await your table with prime seating located right at the edge of the dance floor.  At this level, omplimentary tickets for signature drinks will also be available during the cocktail hour. There will also be party favors for all of your guests as well as a beautiful rose for every lady at the table.  Your sponsorship at this level will also give you a full-page ad in the Sweetheart Gala Program.

If you are afraid of heights, take a trip down the Champs Elyse to the $2,500 Arc De Triomphe Level, where you will enjoy fine wine for your party of ten, along with a fabulous dinner and a half page ad in the Sweetheart Gala Program.
