Today there are a wide array of laser technologies available for skin ranging from no-downtime treatments with subtle results to those with significant downtime with dramatic results that can address damaged and aging skin and prompt collagen production to rejuvenate your appearance.  It is becoming increasingly more common for cosmetic dermatologists and plastic surgeons to combine two or more of the many available laser technologies to achieve the most dramatic and all-encompassing results possible.  One such combination is the IPL laser and the pixel laser peel, also known as the Total Results Laser Facial, intended to improve both color and texture.


The Total Results Laser Facial consists of the following two laser treatments:

First, an IPL laser is used, which is good for reducing pigment with no downtime.  To eradicate discoloration, the light used in IPL treatments destroys bothersome pigment in the skin while simultaneously stimulating collagen production.  The wavelength or technology used depends on the color of the discoloration, and these treatments can be helpful for age spots, freckles, and other superficial pigment issues like small dilated blood vessels that look like pinpricks on the skin’s surface.  IPL treatments are also good for persistent redness, rosacea and overall rejuvenation.
Second, the pixel laser peel, which is good for visibly reducing the signs of aging in as few as one to two treatments.  Fine lines, freckles and other discoloration are no match for the pixel laser, which allows the option to adjust the depth and power so you can get lighter or deeper resurfacing depending on your needs.

The Total Results Laser Facial is a great match for nearly everybody and can be done as little as just one time or as often as every month, depending on an individual’s goals and needs.  One can expect to feel and look red and sunburnt-looking for about three days.  The redness will gradually fade into a pink, which can last up to seven days.  Forty-eight hours of absolute sun avoidance and make-up avoidance is required following a Total Results Laser Facial.  Strict sun avoidance is then required, which entails wearing SPF 30 and a hat until all pinkness is resolved.
