You can always tell that spring is just around the corner when the weather starts to warm up and the flowers start to bloom.  And though the rain was much needed, we welcome the sunshine and all its glory and look forward to yet another beautiful season in our City.  March 20 will mark the first day of spring.    
We are so pleased to feature the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Santa Clarita chapter on the cover of this issue.  The committee members have been working hard to make this year’s GREAT STRIDES event bigger and better.  Last year’s event raised approximately $60,000, and this year they are looking to raise even more.  The GREAT STRIDES walk is set to take place on Saturday, April 24 in the morning, beginning at Westfield’s Valencia Town Center.  Get a team and walk a few laps around the mall and help the CF Foundation take steps to find a cure.  For more information about the Foundation and the event, see page 13.
After the GREAT STRIDES walk, make sure and “Cha-Cha” your way to another exciting event - the Dancing With Our Stars competition that will take place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza located on the Avenue with the Stars.  Learn about the non-profit organizations, celebrities and professionals that will be participating on page 25. 
The end of March brings us a fun and tasty event as the Santa Clarita Youth Project brings back their Sweet Charity Cake Auction and Competition on March 27.  Beginning at 6 p.m., guests will enjoy a “Cake-tail” reception at the beautiful Tournament Players Club in Valencia, with appetizers, competition and auction to follow, all to benefit the SCV Youth Project.  For details, see the calendar on page 60 and 61.
