Queen Nation
An amazing tribute to one of rocks greatest show bands, Queen.  Queen Nation is a picturesque re-creation of vintage Queen.  Lead vocalists Joe or Gregory capture Freddy Mercury’s voice and mannerisms complemented by the perfect look and sound of Mike on guitar doing the Brian May riffs.

Wendy’s Adds to Their Community Calendar

A community is only as strong as its people and Wendy’s of Santa Clarita is starting the summer off right by getting out of the restaurant, rolling up their sleeves and meeting the people that make our town a special place.  You may have recently seen the Wendy’s team serving volunteers at The SCV Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament or SCV Relay for Life.  And if you hit a high school football game this September, you’re sure to see Wendy’s at the games to support our local schools.  They will round out the year as a key sponsor and participant in Light the Night at Bridgeport Park to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Keeping SCV Healthy – NYA’s “LAC Seal”

What constitutes a product even being called ‘yogurt’? Simple: the words “live and active cultures.” The living organisms Streptococcus Thermophilus and Lactobacillus Bulgaricus usher the pasteurized milk from the ‘milk’ stage to the ‘yogurt’ stage during fermentation. The basic food, milk, is actually transformed into a healthier, more beneficial food. The National Yogurt Association (NYA) has an exemplary program called the “LAC Seal” Program (Live & Active Cultures).

A Tribute to Fathers

Father’s Day poses as just the perfect occasion to express feelings of gratitude and thankfulness to every dad in the world.  The day was primarily nationalized in the honor of all good fathers, who contribute as much to the family as a mother, in their own ways.
The history of Father’s Day dates back to 1909, in Spokane, Washington.  Sonora Smart Dodd, being the first to solicit the idea of having an official Father’s Day, was listening to a Mother’s Day sermon, at the Central Methodist Episcopal Church.

Cheryl Wasserman Named 2012-13 Zontian of the Year

A very surprised Cheryl Wasserman received the 2012-2013 Zontian of the Year award from Zonta Club of SCV at the club’s May business meeting.  The award is normally presented at the club’s installation dinner, but Wasserman will be out of town and committee members who would make the presentation will be out of town for the club’s June meeting, prompting a surprise presentation this month.
Wasserman was nominated for the honor by two Zontians and was selected from a field of three nominees by a committee composed of former Zontian of the Year honorees.

Auction for a Good Cause!

Let me start this by telling you about my last month’s Starbucks date.  She was a very unique woman, and I think her ex-boyfriend was nuts to break up with her.  I guess he needed his space, and splitting up was the only way for him to get it.  The date went great.  We really got along great.  It had been a long time since I connected with someone this well.  We talked and talked for hours, and I was starting to feel an attraction to her.  Obviously you can tell I think she is pretty special.
