Bow-Wows and Meows is Back and Better than Ever

A day filled with adoptable animals, pet lovers and lots of family-friendly fun, the 7th Annual Bow-Wows and Meows Pet Fair will take place on Sunday, October 14 at Newhall’s Hart Park .  The only event of its kind in the Santa Clarita Valley, last year’s event drew thousands of attendees from all over Los Angeles County and resulted in the adoption of over 100 dogs and cats from local shelters.

St. Andrew's Abbey Stages 50th Annual Valyermo Fall Festival September 29-30

ImageThe Benedictine Monks of St. Andrew’s Abbey in nearby Antelope Valley celebrates their 50th annual Valyermo Fall Festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30.  Visitors will enjoy dozens of attractions at the beautiful 1000+-acre monastery ranch above Pearblossom.

City Honored Nationally

The City of Santa Clarita was one of 15 cities honored at the 2007 Mayors’ Climate Protection Awards Program by the United States Conference of Mayors.  The awards recognize and honor mayors for outstanding and innovative practices that mayors are taking to increase energy efficiency in their cities and to help curb global warming.
