Who Do I Call?

Just the other day I received a phone call from concerned coach from one of our local sports teams, he told me of a player that had been injured at practice and had been taken to the emergency room.  He asked me to speak with the injured players parents, because they were unsure of how to proceed.

Spring Time and Hearing Loss

Spring time can see a rise in the number of people seeking out hearing tests.  This spring time will be no exception.  Plants begin producing pollen which in turn leads to a rise in allergy symptoms such as runny nose, watery, itchy eyes causing fluid buildup on the middle ear and swelling and blocking of the Eustachian tubes which are designed to equalize the pressure in the ears.  This can lead to a feeling of fullness in the ears and also a sensation of feeling like your own voice is booming in your head.

Listen Up Diabetes is Now Linked to Hearing Loss

Diabetes, one of the nation’s fastest growing chronic illnesses, is now recognized to be linked to hearing loss.  Coincidentally, diabetes and hearing loss are two of America’s most widespread health concerns, and both are constantly on the rise.
A Japanese study discovered diabetics to be more than twice as likely to have a hearing impairment.  According to this analysis, hearing loss is present in more than double of people with diabetes.
