Pleasantview Industries, Inc, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1969, by a group of parents and volunteers who recognized the need for job training, work force readiness, and other support services for individuals with developmental disabilities as they exited the K-12 school system.  The William S. Hart UHSD became affiliated with Pleasantview in the 1970’s, providing resources for workplace preparation for their student-clients with both state funding and private donations.

The term “hybrid” has been used frequently over the last two decades for many things from fruits, vegetables, and farm animals to fertilizers, plastics and automobiles.  Hybrid can be defined as the “offspring of genetically different parents.”  Often, the hybrid product can be more efficient than what it is replacing.  As technology improves, the costs generally go down and quality improves.
