Are Hormones the Reason You’re So Tired?

“I just don’t have the energy that I use to have.”  It’s probably the most common complaint I hear from my clients.  Loss of energy is not normal, though many people write it off as just part of “getting older.”  The truth is there are many older people who can run circles around us.
Your energy level is directly influenced by the levels of estrogen, testosterone and progesterone in your body.  When hormone levels soar too high or dip too low, or fluctuate wildly, one of the major results is energy drain.  Let’s take a closer look:

Unwanted Winter Weight

Warmer weather means beach season is around the corner.  Time to shed those winter clothes along with those extra pounds we’ve been hiding underneath the layers.  In order to do that, the body needs to go through a process called thermogenesis which is the process of creating heat in the body to help break down fat.

Fear of Buying Shoes

It was the same fear that gripped me a week prior when I walked into an informational meeting for the American Stroke Association’s Marathon Training Program.  There, I was greeted with enthusiastic coaches and volunteers confident that I, a 48-year-old overweight inactive woman, could complete a marathon.  They would provide the training however, I needed the proper equipment and they referred me to Runners Lane.

How Yoga Helps the Whole Family

It’s amazing to us how yoga has taken off all over the country.  Yoga is no longer a thing only hippies do but people in all walks of life are trying yoga and discovering its amazing benefits.  Yoga not only cleanses the body but also the mind.  It helps to calm your body down, improve your concentration and reduces stress.

It’s a Family Affair!

Being a work place “team-player” is taken to a whole new level by a group of men at the Santa Clarita Soccer Center (SCSC).  “Los Chingones” is a new Division 2 team in the Saturday Men’s Open League, and all of the players are members of the crew from David B. Toneman Construction, Inc.  David Toneman, owner and team sponsor, said he decided to put the team together to give his workers an added benefit and because of his own experience playing in a somewhat less competitive league, Men Over 40.
